We believe that a strong CSE student is defined not only by remarkable competence, but also strong character, interpersonal skills, and leadership through service. Consequently, we strive to present a substantial amount of real world opportunities to stimulate our students' holistic growth.

CSE Career and Internships Fair

Finding the right internship or job is challenging. That's why the CSE department annually hosts a career fair in October, bringing in recruiters from companies nearby. Students are encouraged to take this opportunity to create and present professional resumes to these recruiters, often starting the process to getting a job for the next summer, or after graduation.

TUPilots

Taylor University's TUPilots is a Drone Club for drone enthusiasts of all kinds. TUPilots flies their drones in an indoor drone room, as well as an outdoors insured fly space. TUPilots works to educate Taylor students more about flying, building, and programming drones, while also also striving to learn more about drones themselves.

On several occasions throughout the year, CSE students will print posters displaying their projects and present them to potential employers from around the area.

GameJam

Taylor CSE’s GameJam is an event hosted by Dr. Jon Denning where students get together to develop video games from scratch. Being permitted to create any type of game imaginable, teams compete to make the best game.

Center for Missions Computing

Taylor Center for Missions Computing (CMC) works to provide computing research, education, service, and resources to empower missions work around the globe. In January of 2019, a team went to Ecuador to develop integral management software for a church there.

Internships

All CSE students have the opportunity to work internships for credit—indeed, many of our degrees require such real-world experience. It helps that Taylor CSE is well-connected in the field, and several notable companies regularly hire both our current students and our alumni for internships and full-time jobs.



First Year - Senior Retreat



After half a semester of a CSE orientation class, new majors go on a weekend retreat with seniors and faculty. While going through sessions designed to help students understand what a career in CSE looks like, students get to know each other better through team building activities, games, worship, and more!
